ART COMPETITION - A HAPPY HOME
Y3 ART COMPETITION
"A HAPPY HOME"

Year 3 are raising money for a new roof at a children’s home this term. This thoughtful idea came from a child in 3L, who wrote this to explain the competition in our Year 3 assembly yesterday:
“Lamphun Children’s Home is in the north of Thailand. Children with no mums and dads live there. During the monsoon, the rain was so strong that the old straw roof was damaged and now when the children sleep, they get wet if it rains. The children would like a strong roof so they can keep dry inside.
I want the Year 3 children to help raise money for the new roof. The Student Council are organising an art competition as a fundraiser. The theme will be “A Happy Home” and it will cost 100b to enter. Your teacher can give you paper if you ask nicely! The winner will receive some art equipment as a prize. Mrs Myers and the Student Council will choose the winner on Tuesday 28th February. If you create a drawing or a painting please bring it to school with your 100b and give it to your teacher. All of the money will be sent to the children’s home to help them buy a new roof.”
Entries should be completed on A4 paper, which may be coloured or white. White A4 paper can be obtained through class teachers where necessary. Children may wish to paint , sketch, create a collage... anything, as long as their picture portrays a happy home.
I look forward to receiving some entries and 100b donations soon. In classes where every child enters, they will receive 20 marbles too, so come on everyone!
