Year 3A...Scene 7...
Learn your lines by heart!!!
Ping: The Misty Mountain is HUGE! How will we get all the way up there?
Tom: We will have to climb. It will be very difficult.
Annabel: More like impossible!
Athena: I'll race you to the top! (Shouting as she runs past the others, carrying her trusty bow.)
Narrator #1: The climb was long and difficult. Many times they tripped and fell scraping their knees and bruising their elbows. But with Tom’s help, they all finally reached the crevice at the top of the Misty Mountain.
Tom pulls the other three into a tight circle and whispers his plan. They nod in agreement and all get into their positions...
Tom: Right everyone – go to your positions!
Ping and Annabel move down to the front of the crevice. Ping sings a beautiful, haunting old folk song in the clearing. Annabel dances like a fairy to his tune.
Chan Chien's ears prick up inside the crevice, his red-devilish eyes open and he edges out of the cave to take a look at his prey. Dragons head to pop out from under stair thingy - Once... Twice... Three times
Tom: Take That! (As he drops a huge stone on top of Chan Chien's head from the top of the stairwell thingy.)
Dragon Roar!!!
Chan Chien Flying Animation on screen?
Tom stands on the mountain top, shield held bravely before him. At the last second before Tom is devoured, Athena jumps out from behind a rock, an arrow notched in her shiny, Titanium bow.
Tom: Now, Athena!
Ping: Look out, Tom!
Annabel: AAAaahhhhhhhhh!
Athena: LEAVE MY BROTHER ALONE!!!!
She lets fly with the arrow straight into Chan Chien’s open mouth.
Ping: Great shot Athena!
Annabel: Chan Chien is dead!
All on stage: Yayyy!!!!
Chan Chien’s head drops to the ground in front of the curtain. 6 children run out from behind the curtain trailing 6 long trains of red material representing the dragon’s blood. The children help Tom to his feet. They all stand and stare at the lifeless body of Chan Chien. They nod and smile to one another. (HUGS??)
Narrator #2: Their Quest had been completed. It was time to go home.
Tom: Let’s go home to Mum. Our work here is done. We have achieved our goal.
Ping: I can’t wait to eat mum’s noodles!
Athena: I think I’ll start archery lessons!
Annabel: I can’t wait to have a bath!
Narrator #3: So it was, that with a little help from the Gods, Ping’s beautiful singing, Annabel’s dancing, Tom’s bravery and Athena’s skill and composure, the days of the dragon Chan Chien were finally over.
Tom breaks away from the celebration with his brother and sisters and stands over the dragon's body.
Tom: We'll need to take back proof that we have defeated the beast. We'll take its head.
He takes out his knife and in one smooth motion he cuts off the terrible head and puts it in a sack.
Tom: It's getting late and we'd better start our journey home. It's a long way and it's going to take a while.
Huge flash of lightning and a tremendous rumble of thunder.
Ancient God: Well done, children, you have succeeded in your quest. Skinny God: You have slain the dragon, Chan Chien, killer of thousands of innocent children.
Plump God: Your mother and the other people of the village will be worried about you.
Mighty God: You must return home quickly. Drink this potion and you will magically appear back in the village!
