On Wednesday 22nd February children in Year 1 had an opportunity to show their parents all the skills that they had learnt during their PE sessions and have a lot of fun too! Take a look at the pictures to see the children running, jumping, crawling, throwing, dribbling and generally enjoying themselves!
Thank you to all the parents for coming to support their children and a particular thanks to the PE staff for making it such an enjoyable morning!

Over the past few weeks children have been very busy describing and writing about toys for a toy dictionary, making up stories and of course designing and planning then making toys. At the end of our topic 'The Toybox!' 1C took part in the 'Year One Toy Expo’. Classrooms were set up like mini museums, posters, drapes, labels, captions and toys were strategically placed by the children. Then the expo was declared open.
The toys came in all shapes and sizes and included a huge variety such as kites, soft toys, robots, tanks, rockets, puppets and fish tanks. Children were split into two groups ‘The Learners’ and ‘The Experts’ and went from class to class asking various questions about the different toys. The experts were able to inform the learners of what and how they made their toys. Across the year group children scampered with excitement as they looked at the various creations that others had made. There was a real buzz to their learning and various comments were heard.

“It was great because you get to see different stuff in other classes and learn”
“I love this bird because it’s so cute!”
“This is fun, there are interesting things, it’s so exciting!”
The Toy Expo was a huge success as the children took great pride in showing their friends in other classes all the things they had made and learnt.
Well done to 1C! You really have become experts in Toys!
