1C class: Look what we have been doing in 1C!
Giving Alms

Last Tuesday, 20 monks came to Year One so that the children could take part in the special ceremony of making merit and giving alms. During our topic of 'Our Wonderful World' children have been learning about teh culture of Thailand and Buddhism. During Thai lessons children have been learning how to approach a monk and how to 'wai' them when putting food into their bowls. The monks performed a blessing afterwards. The children were so generous that there was lots of food that got taken off in plastic bags to the temple to be shared with the other monks that did not come to school.
