Shape Challenge

My grandpa gave me a challenge (so as to stop me from watching too much TV!). He gives me a sheet of plain paper and asks me to make different shapes out of it. I have no scissors, ruler, or pencil. I only have the sheet of paper.
I managed to get rectangles, squares and triangles from it. Can you guess how I did that? :)
