The Circus has come to Patana

This morning, as part of the introduction to our new theme “The circus is coming to town”, the children attended a one-off performance by a travelling circus in the Primary Hall.

Wonderfully led by the famous Ring Master Billy Blunder, the children were entertained by jugglers, acrobats, human cannonballs, tightrope walkers and many others beside. Take a look at the show below and talk about the different acts you might see at a circus.

Maths Temple Fair

Children have been super busy this week designing and making maths games for our Thai Temple Fair. Each game had to have a maths concept that they had learnt throughout the year - weighing, measuring, doubles, number bonds etc. The ideas were all very creative and after initial discussions in teams children began making their games. Each game had a set of rules, prizes and posters to advertise them. On the day children had to expalin their games to the Year 5 and Year 2 children and their parents. It was fabulous to see the range of games that children came up with in Year 1 and particularly the excellent team work. Well done Year 1!

1C raised approximately 4,067 baht. We look forward to hearing what the grand total was for the entire year group!

Another busy hot day at Patana! This morning the children sat quietly in the playground waiting for the monks to arrive. In pairs they put their offerings into the monks bowls. The monks paraded around collecting their offerings from Year One children and finished with a blessing.
