Conference Reflections

Published Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
Last updated: Wednesday, March 27, 2013

For your home learning tonight I would like you to spend some time reflecting on your learning since the last conference (which was way back in October). As a comment after this post please answer these questions.

What has been your favourite activity since October and why? (This could be anything, an activity from resi, an ECA, Seussical. It just needs to be something connected to school.)

What curriculum theme (Rivers&Rainforests) activity have you most enjoyed and why? You could use the blog to remind you of our learning.

What activity from your specialist lessons have you most enjoyed and why?

If you have your conference tomorrow please can you do this tonight. Thanks.

Favourite activity since October:
I enjoyed the Pond Dipping in Khao Yai on our residential trip. Because I got to catch tadpoles, fishes and river shrimps. I also saw some river worms in the water hiding underneath the stones. They were very long indeed. My group caught loads of the creatures, however we weren’t allowed to catch the mosquito eggs.

Favourite Curriculum theme activity:
I enjoyed gardening the most. Because we had to use our gardening skills, teamwork and confidence. We needed lots of patience removing the leaves and stones as it seemed like it would take forever, there were so many of them. But most of all, the best part was when I was sweeping and scrubbing the floor clean. When I am scrubbing and sweeping the floor, it makes a satisfying sound. I don’t know why.

Favourite specialist activity:
I enjoy my PE lessons-O.A.A wall climbing. I love it since climbing is one of my favourite sports. The best two parts of my lessons on O.A.A wall climbing was when we had to climb one section blindfolded and the other is climbing past five sections trying not to fall down, it was a challenge but still fun.

In residental, it was very fun because I've got to do things that I haven't done before like forest trecking and measuring the depth of th river. Especially the pond dipping, it was dirty and wet but I dont mind I just continued the thing that I was doing which was catching the biggest fish in the pond which was just an inch and I did it, but some of my friends caught some shimps which was hidding under a huge rock. It was the best residental that I had been to.

my favourite curriculum theme work was the chico mendes work because i thought it was interesting learning about what he did and how he lived.

P.E: i like gymnastics because i like learning rolls and stretches.
Music: i like doing alpha four because we get to make our own section.
M.F.L: i like learning french because i like learning other launguges because if we keep learning one day you might be able to speek to people from another country.

My favorite activity since October was going on residential to khao yai.
Being away my with freind was exciting. We all had such ahold time, especially pond dipping.

I really enjoyed writing poems for the river theme. I like playing with words and thought this was fun. We don't often get to read or write poetry, so l was happy to have the opportunity to write.

I enjoyed Tball during PE class the most this year. playing agame with the whole class is fun. I'm not so good at catching, but I think I can hit the ball well.

In residential my favorite activity was measuring the depth of the river. When we were measuring the depth we all fell into the water and I nearly pushed Lyla into the water.

For the curriculum theme activity my favorite was gardening because I love planting. we had to take weeds, stones and leaves out first. Then put the plants in, put sticks beside them to help them stand and water them. but before you put the plant in you need to dig a medium size hole so you can put the plant in.

In music my favorite is alpha 4 now it is getting a little hard to make our own sections. we need to think about how we can make sounds with our body parts to make an 18 beat section for alpha 4.
