Literacy Home Learning Wednesday 27th April

Published Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

Due Friday 29th April

Read the simple sentences below and turn them into super sentences. You can do this by changing some of the words into 'wow' words and adding in subordinate clases. You will need to use commas or connectives. Whatever you think is most effective. Try and create an atomospheric picture in your reader's eye. If you think you need to use a few sentnces you can, but don't write a whole paragraph for each!

Fagin looked in the box.

Fagin’s eyes glistened as he opened the box of dreams.

Oliver walked along the road.

Oliver trudged exhaustedly along the never-ending road to London, when would it ever end?

Fagin sat in the cell.

A shriveled Fagin sat huddled in the corner of the dark and depressing cell.

Oliver went to ask for more.

Oliver walked along the road. He was tired.

Dodger walked around the market.

Fagin looked in the jewelry box.

Fagin played a game.

Bill Sikes and Oliver walked to the house. It was dark.

Dodger followed Nancy.

Bill hit Nancy.

Nancy lay dead.

Fagin sat in the corner of the cell.
