Home Learning Friday 11th May
Here are some activities to extend your learning on the three way conference day. Do what you can. We know that some people will be in school for longer than others, and that some will have more travel time them others. A few will not be in school at all!
Activity 1
Turn these simple sentences describing the characters in Oliver into much more interesting sentences or even paragraphs. Focus on describing what the characters look like, what they wear and how they speak and move. Try to use interesting words and phrases (a thesaurus will be helpful here). Also use the technique of show not tell to tell the reader as much as you can about the character.
- Fagin was old and had long red hair.
- Bill Sykes looked nasty.
- Oliver walked along a long road.
- Mr Brownlow smiled kindly.
- Mr Bumble shouted.
Activity 2
Click on this link for a reading comprehension about taking care of our environment. You will need to rotate it to read it!

Activity 3
Go to www.mymaths.co.uk and practise some maths skills that you think you could do with working on. Try focusing on your target area.
Activity 4
Continue with your Victorian presentations. Make a poster about your topic.
