Who was Queen Victoria?
King Rama V reigned in Thailand from 1868-1910. What can you find out about him? The Thai people hold King Rama V in great respect and on October 23rd each year celebrate Chulalongkorn Day in his honour.
In the first week we will be watching the film Oliver Twist.

The story was written by the famous author Charles Dickens.
If you have time over the holidays try to find out about the story and the characters. Charles Dickens has created some of the best charcters ever! The Artful Doger is brilliant!
Victorian Day will now be on Tuesday 10th May.
You might want to start to thinking about your costume over the holidays. Most Victorian costumes are fairly simple. For the boys, a pair of dark shorts with a collared shirt and waistcoat is fine. Perhaps a flat cap to finish off the look.
For the girls, a simple dark dress with a white apron over the top has been a popular choice in previous years.
Or you may want to go to town and dress as a well to-do Victorian gentleman or lady. Up to you!
Follow the link below for some photos of previous Vistorian days. This will give you some ideas for your outfits.
