4J's Jolly Jungle: Find out what's going on in 4J.

Literacy homework Wednesday 30th September

Published Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

Due Friday 2nd October

This link has some quizes to go over your knowledge of similes and metaphors.

 Your job….

In your literacy books draw a picture of a friend of yours and think of five similes and metaphors that describe them. For example: My friend is a scrumptious chocolate (metaphor). Or: My friend is as pretty as a picture (simile).

If you want to do more you could write a short poem about a friend of yours using similes and metaphors. Here is an example of a poem about a friend that uses metaphors. We will listen to your work in class on Friday morning!

A friend is an open hand
A friend is a happy land
A friend is a pot of gold
A friend is someone I can hold
A friend is a beautiful flower
A friend has a lot of power

5J Basketball Chant

Published Tuesday, September 29, 2009.

5J fans in the stands

Let me hear you clap your hands

Now that we've got the beat,

let me here you stomp your feet

(same beat  as clap)

Now  that you've got the groove

Let me see your body move

(move body like waves)  ahwooa ah ah awooa ah ah awooa

Now that you're having fun

Let me see you shake your bum

(wiggle your bottom) dum dum dam dum dam dum

Comment By Eve

5J worked very hard at the aquathlon today - lots of the children beat their personal best times.

Well done 5J
