In Literacy we have been designing gadgets and equipment that you would use on an raging river expedition (you don’t have to be on the boat – it could be a night time trek or walk through the rain forest). I would like you to show off your descriptive writing and write a diary entry or paragraph describing part of your adventure. Think about the sights, sounds, smells and emotions that you would feel on the day. Please remember the ways to make your sentences more interesting:
- Use lively adjectives and verbs
- Re-order your sentences so it starts with a connective (as, when, during) or a verb or adverb (dashing, peering, softly, violently
- Use a simlie or metaphor
- Use alliteration
Remember to try and use a variety of punctuation, especially an apostrophe as we have been studying these this week.
Be adventurous with your imagination and with your writing.
