Capturing the Moment!

Earlier this week 4E visited the Memorial Garden.  We sat and reflected and drew upon this experience to write about our thoughts and feelings.

The sunlight showered over me as I walked down the stairs to the Memorial Garden.  I was jumping with anticipation.  Birds were chirping but everything was peaceful and tranquil.  It was hot, but every now and then a faint breeze would make me cool again.  A beautiful butterfly flew by the hard wooden bench as I was talking.

It felt sticky and it was burning hot when I sat upon     the wooden bench.  I was amazed when I saw the humungous chess board. I felt so puny it felt very peaceful. It felt very peaceful and quiet I was thinking i was in heaven.  I was remembering about my great great grandad in a war winning. I was really sorry for the people who died in the wars.  I saw a medium sized butterfly which flew over my head.

The faint aroma of the forest floated through the stray sun trying to reach me. The butterflies wings flapped in the distance while the birds chirped their morning songs.  Sunlight caught my eye as I turned my head around.  A deserted chess board was waiting for life to come.

When we reached the Memorial Garden I was thrilled. There were streams of sunlight and an abandoned, scattered chessboard waiting for children to come. A patch of deep red flowers.  A zooming aeroplane.  A teacher tried to teach a class with screaming children in it.

4E took a brick for a walk!

As part of our Science work on friction 4E took some bricks for a walk.  The bricks were walked on a variety of different surfaces and the children used forcemeters to measure in newtons.  They found out that bumpy surfaces are high in friction so it is harder for the bricks to move.  Smoother surfaces are lower in friction so the brick moved more feely.

What did the forcemeter show?

Pull carefully!
