4E 'The Jaguars': Welcome to our new blog. We hope it will grow to be strong and powerful like a real jaguar!

Each class has visited Mr. Taylor in a Secondary School Laboratory.

The children had the opportunity to examine fibres found at the crime scene where some computers have been stolen.  Year 4 are using their knowledge of science to find evident to identify the perpetrator.  Each day they are developing skills in the following areas.

Fingerprint techniques

Identifying powders and footprnts

Bones

Teeth

The children are applying these new skills to reveal the thief and present conclusive evidence on Friday.

When we went to the Secondary at the Laboratory Mr. Taylor showed us how to use the microscope and it made the fibers 10 times larger.

Microscopes are very intresting because all of the different functions and abilities. It can be confusing because you could get mixed up with the zoom in wheel and the button to move the fibres around.
