School re-opens
Dear Parents,
I am very pleased that school has re-opened today and I am enjoying catching up with the children again. I hope you were not badly affected by the flood and your friends and family remained safe.
I acknowledge that this time will have been difficult for both you and the children and I appreciate your support in ensuring learning was maintained. I have to say I have been impressed with the learning I have seen already and I look forward to seeing more of what the children have done and am responding to their learning as quickly as I can.
Much of what the children have done will also be used as a platform for continuing our Inventions unit and will have provided the children with a lot of prior knowledge. Could you remind the children to bring in all the work they have done whether it be in paper form or on a thumb drive. The children will be able to print anything they need to at school. We will then have a 'Learning Expo' in Year 4 where the children will have the opportunity to share their learning and receive feedback from their peers and teachers.
I have had some children advise me they will be returning to school at a later date. If your child is returning at a later date, could you please let me now as soon as possible. Thank you if you have already done so.
Let us hope the floods begin to abate!
Regards
John
