100 Leaf Beanstalk

Published Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
Last updated: Tuesday, February 28, 2012

The children were tasked with the Learning Question from ERIC - "Can you make a beanstalk long enough to get to the Giant's castle?" & "Can you use your knowledge of numbers to 100 to do so?"

They worked in groups to discuss the ideas and methods they were going to use to make sure that the leaves were placed in the right order on the beanstalk - also utilising a 100 square to make sure that each number was only used once.
Great job and wonderful teamwork 1S. :-)

Sports Day

1S had a wonderful Sports Day this morning, with many different activities to allow them to show off the skills they had learnt in their PE lessons. To round it all off they had an ice lolly afterwards, which was a great way to finish.

Here they all are, looking a little cooler (but not much!) after a little rest.

World Language Day

Published Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
Last updated: Tuesday, February 21, 2012

The children had a great day, celebrating the wonderful diversity of languages we have at Patana. First of all we all joined in with a whole school assembly which showcased the many talents and languages that we have in the school. After this we came back to class for our playtime and snack and then got ready to link up with Year 2 to participate in four different activities, all with a language theme. There were some outside playground games to learn, a jigsaw of the languages spoken in the year group to make and put together, letters to collage, which will make up different greetings and finally some language games played in French. All great fun!

Here we are this morning in our wonderful Language Day costumes.

Dear 1S Parents,

On Tuesday 21st February we have WORLD LANGUAGE DAY and we will we celebrating this with a special whole school assembly in the Sports Hall between 08:00 and 09:00.

The children are invited to come to school on this day in either their National costume or wearing the colours of their National flag. We look forward to seeing a colourful and wonderfully international year group!

Then on Wednesday 22nd February our Year 1 Sports Day is taking place - between 08:00 and 09:30 on the Primary Field and the Back Hard Court. Please can the children come to school dressed in their PE kit, with their school uniform in their bags ready to change into afterwards. We look forward to seeing lots of you there, cheering the children on!

Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy whatever you do, wherever you go and whoever you are with! I will look forward to hearing all about the children's adventures when they come back to school next Monday morning.

Kind regards,

Mr. M.

Dress up for World Language Day !!

The whole school will be celebrating World Language Day on Tuesday 21st February and we would like to invite all children, staff and parents to come to dress in their national colours or national dress.  There will be a whole school assembly from 8:00 am celebrating language and literature.

World Language Day has been celebrated around the world since 2000 and provides an occasion to recognize the vital importance of languages in education and the   multilingual and cultural diversity that make up the Bangkok Patana community

We look forward to a colourful display of the 62 nationalities currently attending our school.
