Crazy has a wonderful time!
Crazy is a really lucky Croc. He has been rollerblading, swinging and sliding, eating, sleeping and has even managed a visit to the hospital - a first for him! Check out his story this week ...

An Interactive 100 Square
We have been using an interactive 100 Square during our Maths lessons this week and the children asked if they could have it on the blog so that they could use it at home. The link will open the page on which the 100 Square is actually located. Please just scroll down until you find it and then click and enjoy! There are many different ways in which it can be used, so have fun finding out what they are - see how many you can remember from our lessons. If the 100 Square comes out too big for the computer screen when you open it, you can resize it to 68% and press the F11 (full screen button) and it should be about right.
I played all of the games and my favourite one was the washing line.

Friday morning finally arrived and the children were all ready and eager to set up for the Temple Fair that they had been preparing for over the past couple of weeks. We had a wonderful turn out of people for the event - both parents and the children from Year 5 - and the atmosphere was fantastic. The children were able to display all of the learning that had taken place and really took charge of the games they were running. They made sure that everyone played them properly, according to their rules (!) and raised lots of money for our Year Group charity as well. A really big well done to everyone. :)

A lot of fun and I liked the way the rules changed to make up for the fact that they didn't have a prize!

The children are all busily preparing for the Temple Fair that Year 1 will be holding on Friday 20th May. They are working in small groups and are making games that have different mathematical focuses. There is a game that involves numbers and calculating, one that involves measuring, one where there is estimating and weighing, one where 3D and 2D shapes are used and you have to guess what they are and one where the use of grid references and position are important. Teamwork and co-operation has been vital to make sure that everything is agreed and finished - the children have been solving problems as they have been working through the project. We hope that everyone who is able to come on Friday morning (from 10:30 until 11:00) will enjoy their efforts and spend lots of money on their games!! All of the money raised will go towards our Year Group charity "Friends for All Children" Orphanage in Bangkok.
