First Week of Term 3
We have started off our new Learning Theme this week - all about "Our Wonderful World" - and we have focussed on Thailand and Bangkok. We have had a visit by a group of Monks who spoke to us and answered our questions. They told us that the reason they wear orange robes is because it is their uniform - jusy like ours! Also, a few thousand years ago when the followers of Buddha lived in the forests, orange was chosen because it scared other animals away, thinking that they were tigers ... the children though that this was cool!

Green Earth Day on Friday was fun. The children came to school dressed in so many different shades of green the playground looked like a swaying and mobile rainforest! They enjoyed an Assembly led by the children of 2O where they learnt all about the benefits of reusing and recycling items of rubbish. The story all about "Litterbug Doug" was very memorable way because Mr. Sean read it in such a funny way!
Next week, the children will be making merit with some Monks in the Year 1 & 2 Playground as well as visiting our Outdoor Classroom - it is going to be another fascinating week of learning. Look out for details and reminders about these events in the children's Red Books next week.
