Grandad's Magic Slippers

All of the children's work over the past few weeks is now paying off - the dress rehearsal of their mini-performance went very well today and they are looking forward to performing for the rest of Year 1 and their parents tomorrow.

We haven't heard of Grandad's Magic Slippers. What happens in the story and what songs did you sing?

We do a performance at Christmas, it was called 'It's a party', do you know why?

Grandad has magic slippers that can take you to different countries and places around the world. They work by glowing! When they glow they know that they will be going on another different adventure. Charlie (who is a little boy) and Grandad go looking for Alfie (a black and white cat) because Alfie got lost on one of Grandad's trips.In our story they went to South Africa first and they thought they saw a tail that looked like Alfie - but it was the tail of a lion and they had to use Grandad's slippers to help them escape. On each adventure they think they see Alfie's tail but it never is! At the end of the story Alfie comes home by himself. In our performance we sang 7 songs - 6 for the countries we visited and one as a finale. It was great fun! :)

I liked dancing when the 'Can Can' song came. I also liked to sing the Italian and Russian songs too. I enjoyed doing the show too.
