2S and their last week
2S at the Sleepover - Part 3!
By now, all of the children will have been safely home for a few hours ... they might even have had a little extra sleep after all of their excitement! We had a wonderful breakfast this morning, which was a great start to our day.
See you all next week for the last week of school and your last week in 2S.
Thank you to all of the children for a fabulous sleepover ... we had a great time together.
2S at the Sleepover - Part 2!
All is quiet now, after a wonderful sleepover so far - we await the excitement in the morning when the children awake to find that they really have slept overnight at school and that breakfast is waiting for them in the Canteen. I am sure that they will also be really looking forward to seing their Mums and Dads again!
Dinner time ...
Ready to take our things up to our room!
The night walk was a great success!
Hot chocolate and a biscuit before shower and teeth clean
Ready for bed ... well, maybe!
The boy's side ...
The girl's side ...
Almost there ... !
Night, night ... see you all in the morning.
2S at the Sleepover!
With the Sleepover finally here, the children have been busy doing their activities since 3 o'clock and there is still over an hour to go before tea time! They have been over to the Foundation Stage, had a story in the Library, played on the Adventure Playground and had some time using the laptops. They have still to go on the Pirate Ship, ride the Bikes and to play ball games ... a lot of fun!
Hopefully, there will be a few pictures to see what they have been up to ... and here is the first installment!
The penultimate week ...
There are lots of things going on over the next two weeks ... lots of learning, fun and a variety of activities to make sure that we finish our time in Year 2 with "BANG!" There has been a lot of information in the newsletter and on the Year 2 Blog and there will be planty of reminders in the Red Books over the next week and a half. Some of the 'things' we will be doing (in no particular order) include:
- World Cup Football Tournament
- Leavers Assembly
- Portfolio reflections and compilation
- End of year party
- Campus assembly
A wonderful list of things to look forward to ... hopefully a selection of photographs and comment will appear as and when the activities and events unfold.
Here's to a great week.
Let there be light!
The children have been busily making their lighthouses from clay and they are now made, fired and painted - what was missing, before today, was a light!
As you can see from the photos they have been very focused on constructing an electrical circuit from the parts in the first photo! It was wonderful to see, at the end of the lesson, that everyone had a working light - including a switch! Now all that is needed is to put them into their lighthouses ... but that is for another time!!
The equipment needed to make sure that the lighthouses worked ...
Busy, using our electrical skills ...
