Rocket Man............
We had such an exciting Thursday afternoon!
Mr A, who is a Physics teacher in the Secondary School, came to visit us and talk about Space Discovery. We had a great discussion on rockets and travelling in space. Mr A then suggested we launch our own mini rockets in the garden. He needed some very sensible helpers to assist him.
Look at our pictures to see what happened.....watch the video clip, too!
One of the rockets got stuck in a tree. Can you think of ways to get it back down?

Making snow in K2L..........
During our topic "All Creatures Great and Small", K2L looked at the Arctic and the polar regions. It was very interesting to find out about the animals who inhabit the coldest regions of our planet and how they cleverly adapt to their harsh environment. Living in South East Asia, it became apparent that many children have not seen or experienced the feeling of snow. So, with the help of a product called "Insant Snow", we gathered around a tuff spot in our classroom, carefully measured out the correct spoonfuls of magical powder, added water and watched in awe as the powder expanded before our eyes and became snow-like in appearance!
I think it was the most popular independent activity in the classroom for the rest of the week!
Enjoy the photos!

Always remember to dress up warmly in the Arctic!

Can you help me build an igloo, please?

What did you say?

Thursday 23rd February was a very special day in our calendar because it was the Foundation Stages's long awaited Sports Day! There was a Fairy Tale theme to this year's event which made it even more exciting for the children. Activities such as "James and the Giant Peach", "Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride" and "Collect Jack's Magic Beans" were especially popular with the children.
It was lovely to see so many parents cheering on all members of K2L. The children all enjoyed having your support and were proud to show off their skills.
Each child has received a certificate and ribbon congratulating them for their enthusiastic participation in Sports Day which you can find in their Learning Journey. In the meantime, here are a selection of photos for you to enjoy.

We were delighted and excited to welcome Dr Louise from the Chemisrty Department in the Secondary School to K2 this afternoon. Dr Lou bought with her a trolley full of interesting pieces of equipment and bottles and jars of chemicals. Many of our K2 students volunteered to be Dr Lou's trusty assistants. The high light of the afternoon was creating elephant toothpaste!!!! Please enjoy our photos and ask your child to describe what they saw and heard. This science discovery demonsration was a fantastic way of inspiring many potential scientists of the future!

It looks super duper fun
