FOAMING MONSTERS!
K2L have been very busy scientists this week making potions, amazing ice blocks and even foaming monsters!
To make your own foaming monster you will need the following: transparent plastic bottle, white vinegar, washing up liquid, food colouring, sodium bicarbonate and a tissue ( goggles and lab coat are optional extras!)
These are all items that you will have at home in your cupboard.
For directions on what to do, please ask your child to show you. They have all created their own foaming monster at school and will be able to give very clear step-by-step instructions.
Please take a photo and send it to me so that I can post it on our blog for all the world to see!
In the meantime, enjoy just some of our class photos. I will also place photos in the Learning Journeys.

That looks SUPER exciting! You are all such brave scientists!

I am so proud of the progress they are all making.
Enjoy the photos!
Can you spot your child?

Astronauts, aliens and robots...........
The children of K2L enjoyed working, creating and discovering with their friends in K2A this week. The workshop on the balcony was a hive of activity all week as the children painted and decorated astronaut, alien and robot helmuts.
We are really looking forward to our space walk this afternoon.
We hope you can join us!
Here is a sneek preview of our designs............
I am sure you will agree that we have some budding NASA engineers in our midst!

Wow what a fantastic bunch of astronauts!! It looks like you are all walking on Mars. I bet the space walk was heaps of fun.

Welcome to Term 2.........
It has been a lovely start to Tem 2 in K2L. The children were happy to be reunited with their classmates and have settled back into the routine of school very easily.
Space Exploration and our Solar System is proving to be a very successful topic in K2L!
Last Wednesday, we watched a two minute clip of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon on our Smart board.
Here are just some of the comments from the children that came from a discussion immediately afterwards.
“Did you know that the first astronauts that went to the moon was a chimp?”
“The moon is really, really safe......some aliens can be dangerous.”
“There’s no gravity!”
“The backpack is to stop them floating away.”
“Earth isn’t that small (seeing it in the distance), it’s way bigger!”
“Saturn.....it looks like a slide.”
"Jupiter has a big storm on it, that's where the asteroids have landed."
"Jupiter has 16 moons."
Our favourite space song at the moment is called,
"Flying from the sun to the stars"
