Visit to True Cafe
Our K2 class visits to our local True Cafe have made it a very exciting couple of weeks! K2L visited on Wednesday 17th November. During our focus on “People Who Help Us”, the children suggested that people who work in restaurants and cafes help us enormously by taking our orders, preparing our food and drinks and serving us our meals. The trip to True Cafe covered all of these areas and many more, too! A follow-up activity which evolved naturally from this visit, was the creation of our very own “Patana Pizzeria” situated on the K2 walkway. Not only were the children able to role play restaurant scenarios such as, welcoming and showing customers to their red chequered tables, handing out menus, taking orders, being chefs in the kitchen, but they were also treated to a real life al-fresco dining experience last Friday!

Off we go!

May I have hot chocolate please?

Me too, please!

International Day
We celebrated International Day today at school. Everybody wore national or traditional clothes which made our classroom and school look very vibrant! After the parade and cultural show, we visited the Food Hall where we could choose from a huge variety of delicious food from around the world. We wish we could have International Day every Tuesday!
Here are some photographs of the students of K2L wearing thier International Day outfits. Can you guess which countries they represent?

Nice one Teo. Good day all 'round.

What was happening in K2 last Thursday?
The aromatic smell of incense burning, the taste of coconut in delicious laddu sweets, the thumping beat of Bollywood music and dance, the vibrant colours of the sparkling Indian clothes…. It was Diwali, of course!!
A fun morning was had by all! The children had a huge array of exciting activities on offer, which included dancing, playing Indian instruments, mehndi patterns, rangoli patterns, decorating divas, creating firework pictures and cards, as well as making and eating traditional Indian sweets.
Sincere thanks to Krishaan’s mother, Mehga, who arranged helpers from the Indian Women’s Association. Their contribution and participation made our Diwali celebrations a truly memorable occasion for all. Thanks also to our wonderful K2 assistants who worked tirelessly with the behind the scenes preparation.
Happy Diwali to you all!
