What a beautiful palace!
The students in K2L have been learning about the fairytale "The Princess and the Frog". We have had many discussions about palaces and castles and have looked at some wonderful photographs of castles and palaces around the world. It was decided very quickly that we could create our own palace. Thank you parents for sending in the boxes and tubes. Have a look at our photos to see how we have transformed them into something truly magical!
(Please disregard the date. These photos were taken this morning!)

The castle is beautiful! It is like a little kids castle. It is so colourful.

K2L meet their 3M Reading Buddies
There was a feeling of eager anticipation as the students of K2L met their Year 3 Reading Buddies last Thursday.
It was so lovely to see the students from each class sharing books and forming new friendships.
We are looking forward to seeing our 3M Reading Buddies next Thursday!
Can you remember your Buddy's name?

I like Pim, she is very kind. I always choose a long book but she says I should choose a short book!

Can you guess how many bridges we found as we searched our campus last week?
Not 3, not 5.....not even 7.
We found 9 bridges at school!
Luckily, we didn't find any trolls. We think trolls only exist in fairy tales like The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Enjoy our photos!

Claire must have enjoyed the Billy Goat's Gruff story as she was role playing about the troll even at home.

The 3 Little Pigs
Thanks to all the parents for sending in various versions of this very famous Fairy Tale. The children are really enjoying hearing the stories and looking at the different illustrations each book offers!
We have had a very busy couple of days investigating The Three Little Pigs. Opportunities on offer have included making houses for the pigs made of either straw, sticks or bricks or, in some cases, a combination of the three! The children have painted spectacular pictures of pigs and have enjoyed reenacting the story on our very own stage in the shared area. Today, we plan to do some drawing and writing about the Three Little Pigs.
Enjoy the attached photos!

Humpty Dumpty visits K2L.............
There was great excitement in K2L this morning as we re-enacted the Nursery Rhyme, Humpty Dumpty! We all worked collaboratively to build a tall wall in our classroom. We drew a face on an egg, placed it on top of our wall, sang the Nursery Rhyme and then let Humpty fall from our wall. Oh dear.............what a mess! Poor Humpty sustained a terrible injury! We tried everything to fix him up.....glue, cello-tape....but nothing worked, sadly.
Then we had the idea to hard boil the eggs first. So that's what we did. We hard boiled the eggs while we went for a swimming lesson, allowed them to cool and then drew faces on them. The children will be very carefully carrying their Humpty home today.
Please repeat our re-enactment at home and let us know how you got on.
Enjoy the photos!

I asked Mya what she did in school today and she replied
