Circus Animals
We have had a fantastic week in 1A finding out about the different animals that perform in a circus. We also thought about whether animals should be in a circus. We turned our classroom into a mini conference centre and had a debate about why it is good to have animals in a circus, and why animals shouldn't be performing in a circus.
The children were fantastic and gave forward many reasons for and against animals performing in a circus. By the end of the session all of the children had decided that animals shouldn't be performing in circuses.

Here are some of the arguments children were putting forward:
Animals should be performing in circuses because it is funny.
Animals should not be performing in circuses because they get bored.
Animals like being in the circus.
Animals don’t like being in a circus, they want to run and play and climb outside.
People like to watch the animals.
Animals have to travel in small cages for a whole day.
Animals have a nice time in a circus.
Animals don’t like being forced to do things.
Tigers like jumping through hoops.
Tiger are scared of fire, people make them jump through hoops.
Etc…
We followed up by making posters to make people aware of animals performing in circuses. Please ask your child all about it!
Fantasy stories
Fantasy stories
We have been learning how to write a fantasy story and have tried writing our very own stories. We have also been learning about the adventures of Mr Benn. Mr Benn are fantasy stories where the main character goes on many different adventures through the magic door in the dressing up shop.

Year 2
Year 2
Year 1 have nearly come to the end of Year 1. In order to prepare them for going to Year 2, on Thursday we had a visit to a Year 2 class. The children were very friendly and gave the children from 1A and exciting tour of their future learning environment. We will be visiting again next week to ask questions about anything we are unsure of.
Please tell your parents all about what your saw in Year 2.
Can't believe they are going to be in Y2 so soon. We will miss you a lot, Miss Amy.

Clowns
In 1A we have been learning all about clowns. Did you know that all clowns have different faces which they design ad paint on an egg. Clowns are not allowed to copy each other's faces.
I have never seen so many happy clowns!! I guess it means you are all having a lot of fun.
