6K: Learning for Life

Home Learning - Friday 9th March

Published Friday, March 09, 2012.
Last updated: Friday, March 09, 2012

Literacy:

This week we would like you to discuss with family and friends their views on whether tourism is good for Thailand.  Jot down notes about their ideas ‘for’ and ‘against’ tourism ready for debates and writing next week.

Have a think about another one of our key learning questions:

How does tourism impact on Thai life?

This will help you with your discussions.

6K need to have this learning ready for a debate first thing on Thursday!

Memory Books:

Please continue to collect photos, memories, pictures and ideas for your Memory Book page. If you have publisher at home you can design your page at home. Click here for the template. Otherwise, email me your ideas on word or bring them in to school and you can begin to design your page at school. Thank you.

Maths:

This week we have been learning about BIDMAS and algebra. Please combine your mathematic skills and creativity to design a learning poster that explains the meaning of BIDMAS clearly - giving at least 5 examples using algebra. There will be a small prize for the best ones!

Smile Day:

Your other task is to dress myself and Mrs Helene as Superheroes for the Smile Day assembly on Friday 16th March. There are wigs and scarves and sparkly fabrics available in Year 6 but if you have any other props or costumes at home that you feel will transform us into the greatest superheroes EVER - please bring them in. It is important to decide upon our superhero title, characteristics, super powers etc...
