The London 2012 Olympic Games will showcase 26 different sports, which break down into 39 disciplines – some sports have more than one type of event. For example, Equestrian is made up of three different disciplines – Dressage, Eventing and Jumping – while Cycling has four: BMX, Mountain Bike, Road and Track.
