Year 6 Mandarin
Today we will move on to the more complex question and answer.
Since the system does not support the tone marks at the moment, I will type Pinyin without the tone marks but will make a note of the tone marks with number 1,2,3 and 4 referring to first, second, third and falling tone respectively.
Let's have a look at this sentence:
Wo3 you3 gou3. 我有狗
Wo3de gou3 shi4 bai2se4 de. 我的狗是白色的
Wo3de gou3 xi3huan chi1 han4bao3bao1. 我的狗喜欢吃汉堡包
If you are still not quite sure what they mean, try to read it out and you will get the meaning.
These translate to:
I have a dog.
My dog is white.
My dog likes to eat hamburger.
So, what questions do we need to ask people in order for them to answer with the above three sentences?
As we have learnt to ask different questions with different questioning words, please have a go and try to see if you can ask the right questions matching these answers. Here are some clues:
Yan2se4 颜色 ＝ color
wo3de 我的 = my
shen2me 什么 = what
chong3wu4 宠物 = pet
Name two colors that each of your family member likes. Write your work on a piece of paper and turn it in when we meet again.
You can write a combination of Pinyin and character, if you still remember the characters.
Please leave a comment or email me to let me know how you are doing or if you have any question.
