Hi Everyone
I am sure many of you have seen the advertisements in our libraries for the Readers’ Theatre competition that is running in association with Asia Books. As it says on the website Readers’ Theatre is minimal theatre in support of literature and reading. It was developed as an effective way to present literature in dramatic form and is a great tool for creating interest and skill in reading.
We encourage our Patana Students to enter this competition and have ordered multiple copies of the books that the children need to choose from when preparing their dramatic readings. These are available for all students to borrow from the Primary library. There are two age categories available 9-12 years and 13-16 years. If you would like to learn more about this competition full details are available at:
http://www.asiabooks.com/Readers_Theatre/Default.aspx.
Last year two Year 6 Patana students Madeline Seeley-Hacker (who has now left Patana) and Eleanor Condon (now in 7G) gained 3rd place in the competition and won 2,500baht of Asia book vouchers each. They both found it to be an amazing event and gained a lot from this opportunity to read aloud in front of a live audience.
Please feel free to contact any of the following people if you would like any help or advice with entering the competition: Miss Sally, Miss Carli, Miss Kiri or Eleanor in 7G.
Good luck!
Ms F
Hi Ning,
The Reader's Competition has now closed. Look out for the posters again next year as you can give it a go in Year 7 as well.
