Week begining 30th January 2012
We have been continuing to explore our senses. Last week, the children used their hands to investigate a variety of materials and made feely pictures with them. It was an opportunity to use descriptive words and to be introduced to new vocabulary. Here are some of the words you may also like to use at home, in English or your home language, when talking about how things feel when you use your sense of touch.
hard, soft, smooth, rough, bumpy, furry, fluffy, prickly, spiky
Some of the children also explored the sense of touch by using their feet too. Would you like to put your feet in baked beans, jelly, cotton wool, cereal or cold water? The children were great risk takers and had a go!
Have a safe and happy half term holiday!

This feels crinkley.

"It feel sloppy."

My feet are in the jelly!

How does the gloop feel?

Look! My slime is stretchy!

Exploring the slime.

Playing with the gloop!

I am painting my monkey mask.

I had chicken pox this week, but I still had lots of fun at home feeling cereal, jelly and beans with my feet!
It melts my heart to see the children smiling and having fun learning and just being kids....
