Week beginning 29th August 2011
It is wonderful to see our children arriving at school every morning with happy smiling faces, looking forward to the day ahead. We are very impressed with the way in which the K1 children are becoming more independent.
The K1 children have enjoyed listening to stories. One of their favourites here has been, ‘The Three Little Pigs’. We have been talking and learning about the story. All of the children have become familiar with the characters and the repetitive phrases used in the story. You might have been hearing them at home!
The children have also enjoyed learning to recognise the numbers 1-5 using the rhyme Five Little Ducks. The children have been busy painting the ducks and using the SMART Board to count the number of ducks left in the pond.
Here are some of our pictures of the exciting learning that is going on in K1. We hope you enjoy sharing these pictures with your friends and family.

I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down.

The third little pig built his house out of bricks.

I can use the SMART Boad to count the' Five Little Ducks'.

I am painting the 'Five Little Ducks'.

I can talk about the picture I have painted. Do you like my picture of the Big Bad Wolf blowing the Pigs house down?

I put on my own apron, chose my paper and painted all by myself!

I can choose my own materials and use them to make a picture.

I used the truck to take the sand to the mixer to make a birthday cake!

I am learning to make different shapes with playdough.

Experimenting with the number blocks!

Swimming is fun!
I can't believe that my brother made it on channel 9!!!
