K1: We Play! We Think! We Learn!

Week beginning 5th September 2011

Counting Rhymes are very much enjoyed by the children this week. They encourage them to use number names spontaneously!  They are also able to count using concrete objects. The children have been introduced to the ‘Five Little Speckled Frogs' number rhyme and have enjoyed exploring the life cycle of tadploes and frogs with first hand experiences.

We have enjoyed sharing the story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. Through interactive and multi- sensory learning experiences, the children have become fully engaged with the story and have loved retelling it in the garden and in our swimming pool.

We hope you enjoy sharing these pictures with your friends and family.

Mrs.Sarah, Mrs. Judith and Miss Jess

How many speckled frogs are on the log?

I am counting beads for my shaker.

Squishy, Squashy, Squishy, Squashy!

I can make my body into a very wide shape!

I can make my body into a tall shape!

We play games as part of a group.

I can make a Birthday cake!

The polar animals come from a cold place.

"The dinosaurs have had an accident!"

Will it stick to the magnet?

"We're going on a Bear Hunt!" "Do you like my bear?" "He is hiding in the cave!"
Painting my hand to make a print on my picture.

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears" Sharing a book is always special!
