Week beginning 12th Sept 2011
There are numbers, numbers, everywhere! Through a range of activities, the children will continue to become familiar with numbers and begin to recognise them in a variety of contexts. They will be able to find them in our learning environment and see them displayed in our classrooms and around our campus. How many numbers can your children spot at home? Can they recognise them on your mobile telephone or as you enter a lift? Have your children noticed numbers on car registration plates? Happy hunting, as you look for numbers in the environment with your children!
Below is the rhyme we focussed on last week. You can also share the short clip at the end of this page with your child to sing along to the number song.
‘1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I caught a fish alive’
1,2,3,4,5,
Once I caught a fish alive,
6,7,8,9,10
Then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on my right!
We hope you have all enjoyed the long weekend. This week K1 will continue to be a hive of activity as our exciting ‘learning journeys’ continue!
Mrs. Sarah, Mrs. Judith and Miss Jess

1 2 3 4 5 Once I caught a fish alive.

1 2 3 4 5 Once I caught a snake alive.

This is the way we wash our face, early in the morning.

"I can blow bubbles in the water!"

Working together to make a water slide.

"I can bath my baby just like my mummy does to my baby sister."

"All aboard!"

" I can match shapes."

" I can use paint to write numbers."

"I am making a Birthday card for my friend."

" We are making a pink pattern."
Great photos and video. It's a wonderful way to see what they get up to at school! Thanks
