Sports, Birds, Billets, King and Country
This has been an amazing week! The sport's day on Monday was spectacular, I have never been more proud of my kids than when I saw how much they cared for and supported each other. It didn't matter whether it was a serious or silly race, whether we came first, last or ended up rolled up in a sack - we were all there for each other and I am so grateful.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to come to support us, you were fantastic cheerleaders.
There are lots of fantastic photos on the main Y6 page or you can find them here.
Exhibition and Evacuation
Next week is the Exhibition of Learning in Y6 and we have all been working hard to get the Y6 area ready. Our birds are almost completely finsihed and look wonderful.

We also extended our learning about evacuation during WWII by acting out an evacuation procedure including meeting the billeting officer and being selected by a foster family. I'm not giving too much away, there will be much more to see at the exhibition!

His Majesty the King's Birthday
Patana joined schools throughout Thailand to celebrate the King's 84th birthday. We were treated to a recital of his music compositions, dance and poetry performed by students and a trendous shadow theatre performance that literally left the children speechless. More details can be found here.
I'm looking forward to seeing the official celebrations on Monday, and hope you will join with me to wish His Majesty good health and best wishes on his birthday.
Have a wonderful weekend and remember - don't come to school on Monday!

Literacy
This week we have been learning about children who were evacuated from London and other major cities and spent a large part of the war living with foster families in the country. For many, this was the first time they had seen farm animals or experienced life outside a large city. For your home learning, please imagine you are one of these children. Where have you come from? Who are you living with? What have you been doing? What do you miss most? Are you with friends or family?
Record your thoughts and feelings in a diary with 5 separate entries which show how you settle into life in the country. Do you learn to love it or do you hate it?
You have been given an 8 page A5 book, please try to write 5 minutes each day which should allow you to fill the book.
Maths
Attempt to solve these problems showing well organised working out.
Good luck!
All the birds look spectacular!!I can't wait until the Exhibition.
