After lunch today K2M joined the rest of the K2 children in making a representation of our solar system. With the sun in the middle we realised that each planet makes a bigger circle as it goes round its orbit.

We then talked about warm planets near the sun and cold planets far away. We also realised that the far out planets make much bigger circles

We lined the planets up in order.

Mercury and Venus had a short walk.

But Nepeune and Uranus had a long way to go!

5A used the same method of understanding how planets orbit around the sun. We also used toliet paper to see how far we were from each other! Instead of balls we used posters of the planet!
