Interclass Football 2012
Olympic Football Comes to Patana

‘Olympic Fever’ is gripping the students here at Patana and the Interclass Football was not going to escape. Last week all of our Key Stage 2 students headed over to the sports complex waving flags and singing the various national anthems of the countries that they were representing for the day.
The tournament kicked off on Thursday when our year 3 and 4 students took centre stage. Each class was divided into girls, boys and mixed teams and played 4 matches to see who would enjoy the title of ‘champions’. The students demonstrated some fantastic passing, tackling and shooting skills, especially our year 3 students who were enjoying their first interclass football event. They clearly enjoyed the perfect conditions and there was some superb football on display.
The following day it was the turn of our ‘seasoned veterans’, the year 5 and 6 students. The weather was trying its best to interrupt play but it was looking like luck would be on our side. Each competition was very close with many of the games being decided in the dying seconds, however, there can be only one winner on the day and the overall results can be seen bellow:

Yet again another fantastic Interclass Football tournament, made special with an Olympic theme. There was some excellent football on display and all the students deserve much praise for their sportsmanship on and off the field. Well done! We would also like to thank the staff that helped out with the refereeing and organisation of the various events and the many parents that turned out to support the students.
See you all at the swimming galas for our final event of the year,
The Primary PE Team
