Wednesday 4th of May was Green Day around the world and the students of K2L really got into the spirit of the day by participating in lots of green activities in class such as making recycled paper, papier mache, playing with green playdough and even making a green book!

Please enjoy our photos.

And remember.....REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE!

Being creative with natural resources

Published Wednesday, May 04, 2011.
Last updated: Wednesday, May 04, 2011

The pupils in K2L have been invovled in creating outdoor sculptures this week using only natural resources, such as logs, tree stumps, pebbles, stones, fallen leaves and flowers. The ability to cooperate and collaborate was very evident during this recent session and the results are, as I am sure you will agree, just fantastic!

Well done, K2L. I am so proud of you all!

Enjoy the photos...........

Monty the python visits K2L....

Published Tuesday, April 26, 2011.
Last updated: Wednesday, May 04, 2011

Monty is a Burmese python who lives happily in the Science department of the Secondary school. He very occassionally likes to visit other parts of the school with his handler Mr Friend and we were very excited when Monty came to visit us in K2L. The children had so many interesting questions for Mr Friend and we all learned so much about phythons. Please ask your child about what Monty eats and how often, what he likes to do and does he have any friends.

The students of K2L very bravely stroked Monty to discover what a snake's skin feels like. I think he enjoyed all the attention! Enjoy the photos...........

Shrove Tuesday

Published Tuesday, March 08, 2011.
Last updated: Tuesday, April 26, 2011

There was much excitement in K2L when the children discovered it was Shrove Tuesday, also named Pancake Tuesday!

Many thanks to our three wonderful parent helpers who hepled and supported the children as they made their very own pancakes in groups of four. A very sparkly table was set up just outside the kitchen for the children to sit, relax and savour their pancakes. We called it the Pancake Cafe.....without the coffee, of course!

Do you have flour, eggs, salt and milk at home?

If you have these simple ingredients, then perhaps you can make some pancakes, too.

Enjoy the photos everyone and please leave a comment for us to read in class!

Wow look at all those delicious pancakes!! I wish I was there. Maybe next time the kids could put food dye in the pancakes and have multi-coloured pancakes.
Jamie, you look like a real masterchef!
Lots of love,
Kate

Hi K2L! I had so much fun with all of your yesterday! You showed excellent hunting skills as we went out searching high and low for some of those tricky words! It was also so nice to see how you were all sharing and helping each other in the phonics game! Thank you for a lovely morning and I look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

I am delighted to announce that K2L have won the World Language Day competition!

They were presented with their prize, a lovely book,  by Madame Colette from the MFL department at the K2 assembly on March 4th 2011.

Each child will have the opportunity to share this book with you at home in the coming weeks.

Congratulations K2L for being so knowledgeable about many different languages from around the world.
