Pond dipping is so much fun!

Published Thursday, June 02, 2011.
Last updated: Thursday, June 02, 2011

K2L spent the morning of Wednesday the 1st June exploring the outdoor classroom which is located beside the tennis courts and the football pitches opposite school on Soi La Salle.

It was a long journey there but there was lots to see on the way.                                                                          Mr Knott, Mr Mills, Miss Jane and Miss Alison joined us for part of the morning.

There were four areas and activities for us to explore.

1. Pond dipping

2. Digging

3. Insect sweeping

4. Visiting the tree nursery

We all LOVED pond dipping! Enjoy our photos and please ask your child about their experience.

We have a pond at home where we go fishing. There are giant catfish, shrimps, turtles and fish as big as sharks.

Siam Ocean World Visit

Published Friday, May 27, 2011.
Last updated: Friday, May 27, 2011

The level of excitement and anticipation was at an all time high last Wednesday morning as the K2 students, their teachers and parent helpers boarded the coaches which would take them to Siam Ocean World for a morning of discovery and adventure!

For some children, it was the journey itself which was the highlight. For others, it was the vast array of sea creatures on display and for some children, it was the walk through the “shark tunnel” which offered the experience of being among the sharks and sting rays without actually getting wet. All in all, the children all came away with a renewed conviction that we must all work together to keep our environment clean, safe and healthy for all these wonderfully diverse aquatic creatures.

Please enjoy our photos.....

I've been to Ocean World before but this time it was even more fun, going with my friends and sitting in the double-decker bus.

Swimming Gala

Published Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
Last updated: Wednesday, May 11, 2011

The children of K2 had their first ever swimming gala today, Tuesday 10th May.

K2L were just FANTASTIC!

There were a few nervous moments as we approached the pool but they quickly disappeared once the children got into the water!

Each child will receive a Swimming Gala Certificate and ribbon to be proudly displayed in their Learning Journeys.

Many thanks to the swimming coaches and PE staff for organising the K2 Swimming Gala.

Enjoy just a few of our photos from this fantastic event.

Wow it looks like so much fun in the swimming pool!! What a lovely way to spend a hot day. It is raining and cold in Melbourne at the moment so I am very jealous.

Lots of love,

Being creative with natural resources

Published Wednesday, May 04, 2011.
Last updated: Wednesday, May 04, 2011

The pupils in K2L have been invovled in creating outdoor sculptures this week using only natural resources, such as logs, tree stumps, pebbles, stones, fallen leaves and flowers. The ability to cooperate and collaborate was very evident during this recent session and the results are, as I am sure you will agree, just fantastic!

Well done, K2L. I am so proud of you all!

Enjoy the photos...........
