What an amazing first term. I am so proud of all the fantastic learning that has taken place during our 'Moving People' learning theme and thoroughly enjoyed seeing it celebrated in the Year 6 Exhibition.
Such an amazing display of creativity and you all looked so confident, happy and knowledgeable.
Well done!
This is the last home learning for this term!

Home Learning - Friday 2nd December
What a busy week we have had!
It all started with an impressive Sports Day, followed by an exciting Evacuation Drama and now we are getting stuck in to the
'Moving People' Exhibition of Learning preparations. The classroom is looking amazing.
Thanks to all of you for your endless enthusiasm and teamwork.
You are all superstars!
Literacy:
From the comments we received it was clear that you enjoyed our WWII evacuation afternoon. You all did a fantastic job of staying in character and empathizing with the children of the past who had to be evacuated from London to escape the bombings.
Reflecting on the afternoon, your home learning is to write a letter home to your mother telling them how you feel about this adventure. You need to include details of the trip to the station, the train journey and arriving at the village hall. What is it like in the countryside? What is the village and the family you are staying with like? How is your new school? Are the teachers strict?
Remember to include feelings. What would you be nervous about? What would you be excited about? Perhaps it is the first time living away from your parents.

Guidelines:
Remember, this is an informal letter as you are writing to a family member.
Is the address in the top right hand corner of the page?
Does the date of the letter come underneath the address? (Choose an appropriate date from the time period).
Does the letter start with Dear… or another type of greeting?
Is there a clear beginning, middle and end?
Does it keep the reader interested - using well chosen words?
Has the letter been signed off correctly eg. Miss you, Love from, etc.
Maths:
You have been set 2 further MyMaths tasks.
Connected Learning:
If you have time, please bake for our exhibition. Alternatively, spend this time completing your final projects for the exhibition on Wednesday 7th December at 1.10pm. If you are presenting then remember to practise your words so you can speak with confidence, clarity and volume.
Do we have to write our letter in chronilogical order?
Published on Sunday, December 04, 2011 LikeI think we are supposed to write it in chronnoligical order
Published on Sunday, December 04, 2011 LikeMorning Gloy and Ning,
Sorry for the late reply. Your letter will mainly be in chronological order but you might want to change the order slightly. Perhaps you could open your letter by describing your new family then go back to describe the walk to the train station etc... I am sure your letters will be very good.
A fantastic morning enjoyed by all!
Well done 6K! You may not have won Sports Day but you didn't stop smiling and persevering!
I hope you all had a great morning. What was your favourite event?

Congratulataions everyone!!!!!!!
Even though we did not come 1 we still had a great time!!!!!
Great teamspirit!!!!!!
