Top Ten Antarctic Facts

Did you know that 200 million years ago, Antarctica was covered in lush, green forests?

Did you know that at the South Pole the average temperature is a teeth-chattering -49 degrees centigrade?

These are just two of the Amazing Facts about Antarctica – can you find ten of your own?

Use the websites below to help you, find some useful websites of your own or use reference books.

Then, decide how you would like to present your fascinating facts – as powerpoint slides, in poster form, in a list, a booklet, mobile or cartoon strip. It’s up to you.

Remember, at the end of the topic this will go into your Antarctic scrapbook, so make sure it will fit!

You will have until next Tuesday, March 5th to complete this task.

These are recommended websites for your Top Ten Antarctic Facts research - have fun finding out about the coldest place on Earth!
