Year 4 Mandarin:

Chinese Pen License

Published Wednesday, April 03, 2013.
Last updated: Wednesday, April 03, 2013

This is time of the year that we start preparing for Chinese Pen License. It is a good chance to practise what you have learned and showcase how well you can write Chinese.

Year 4 students will challenge to write 22 Chinese characters unsupported in order to get the Chinese Pen License.

A sheet of words we have learned will be handed out for students to practise in first week of Term 3.

All students have worked hard this term and they deserve a nice school break.  I wish you all a Happy Songkran.

See you in Term 3

Let's eat

Published Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
Last updated: Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Year 4 Mandarin classes are talking about yummy food.  Do you know what do Chinese people usually eat for their meals? Can you think of some major differences between Chinese and western food?

Here are some items we learned today:

炒饭 chǎo fàn = fried rice

饺子    jiǎo zǐ = dumpling

冰淇淋 bīng qí lín = ice cream

汉堡包 hàn bǎo bāo = hamburger

面条 miàn tiáo = noodle

我想吃wǒ xiǎng chī  = I want to eat

我喜欢吃wǒ xǐ huān chī  = I like to eat

Now, try to see if you can say what you want to eat and what you like to eat.
