Maths Home Learning 1.11.12
This week's maths home learning has been set using myimaths.com. Please let me know as soon as possible if you have any problems accessing the website.
Standing in the front of the class with the EAL group doing the moves for Thriller was fun!
Sadly Miss Simpson didn't do the EVIL LAUGH! :(
But I enjoyed being in EAL so much. It was so much fun and I loved it!
Thank you Adelia,Johnny, Best and Inbum for being a risk taker and did the moves in front of the class!!!

Swimming Gala
Don't forget the swimming gala is on Monday morning! I look forward to having the opportunity to throw plastic bottles at you (and be quite dangerous to the team in the next lane!)

I am reading this book called "War Stories For Girls"
and I'm really enjoying it. It's just like a diary. I'm reading the first story (War Nurse). It is about a girl who goes to a military hospital and will be soon helping injured people in WWII.

I agree, I was so proud of the way we cheered so loudly for everyone on our team. Although, it was probably not a good idea for me to shout so loudly that I have a sore throat on the first day of 3 Way Conferences! I guess you guys will have to do all the talking.

P.S. There is a event in the library (every mouth) It is called "Raffle..." I forgot the name but it is an reflection box.
How it works:
1) There is some pieces of paper on the counter. If you can't find it ask a librarian for a raffle... reflection sheet.
2) On the piece will be something like this:
Name ..............
Class .............
etc.
Write your name, class book that you are reading, the author and why you chose this book.
3) Drop it in a pink box on the counter saying "Raffle...."
They will pick out some or a winner each month. Please be sure to enter!

Literacy Home Learning
This week we have been studying the Diary of Anne Frank as part of our investigation into WWII. We have focused on an occasion (29th October 1942) when Anne's dad Otto became ill while they were in hiding. For your Literacy home learning, I would like you to write a 2 page diary entry writing from the point of view of one of the characters.
Remember, a diary is private and so your writing should include a mixture of storytelling and feelings.
Please hand write your diary entry on A4 paper (Computers hadn't been invented yet!)
3 Way Conferences:
As our 3 Way Conferences are taking place next Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon, we would like you and your family to feel prepared. Please share these questions with your parents so they have an idea of what to ask you during your conference:
- Why are you proud of this piece of learning?
- What did you learn?
- How did you learn this?
- What are you most pleased with?
- Was anything difficult?

3. On a math test, 5 out of 20 students got an A. If three students are chosen at random without replacement, what is the probability that all three got an A on the test?
4. Three cards are chosen at random from a deck of 52 cards without replacement. What is the probability of choosing an ace, a king, and a queen in order?
5. A school survey found that 7 out of 30 students walk to school. If four students are selected at random without replacement, what is the probability that all four walk to school?
6. Now make up three probability questions which you could ask one of your colleagues to complete - show you answer and workings.
