WWW Rules
These rules are
designed to keep you and
our network safe. Please
follow the rules at all
times and if there is
something you are not
sure about please ask a
teacher.
1. Use your email and
network access sensibly
at all times.
Patana school email
accounts may be used
for:
- Teacher directed
activities;
- Transferring
work between school
and home;
- Collaborating on
school work.
2. Keep your password
private and never try to
use someone else's.
3. Files may only be
downloaded if a teacher
has approved and if the
file is for school use.
4. Printing can be
expensive and
ecologically unfriendly.
Be careful what you
print, don’t waste
paper!!
5. Students are
responsible for good
behaviour on the
Internet just as they
are in a classroom or a
school corridor. General
school rules apply.
6. Using online chat
rooms should not be
undertaken at school
unless supervised.
Your Patana email
account is private, it
will only be accessed by
a teacher if misuse is
suspected.
During school time,
teachers will guide
students toward
appropriate materials.
The following are not
permitted:
- Sending or
displaying offensive
messages or pictures
- Using obscene
language
- Harassing,
insulting or
attacking others
- Damaging
computers, computer
systems or computer
networks
- Violating
copyright laws
- Using others'
passwords
- Trespassing (or
attempting to
trespass) in others'
folders, work or
files
- Intentionally
wasting limited
resources
- Intentionally
accessing
inappropriate
websites e.g.
displaying games of
a violent nature
Don’t forget, when
using your Patana email
account, you agree to
the following
conditions:
- I understand
that I am
responsible for all
emails sent using my
Patana email account
and promise not to
reveal my password
to anyone else.
- I will always be
careful and polite
with the emails I
send.
- I understand
that my Patana email
is private and will
only be checked if
misuse is suspected.
- I will use my
email account only
for school approved
work.
- I will not
include any personal
contact details
(phone number,
address etc) in
email message.
- I understand
that if I do not
follow the guidance
above I will be
liable for sanctions
set by the school.
In extreme cases
external agencies
may be involved.
