U15 FOBISSEA Track & Field Rules - i) A student may enter a maximum of 5 events, either 3 track / 2 field or 3 field / 2 track.
- ii) The team award for 1st place will be awarded at the Gala Dinner

Track - 1) Students may enter a maximum of 3 track events (including the relay).
- 2) 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m & 4 * 100m: each school will be allocated a lane for the 1st 100m final and then will move to the next lane outwards for each subsequent race.
- 3) Blocks will not be permitted for the sprint events.
- 4) 800m & 1500m: athletes will draw for their lane in the waterfall start.
- 5) The third and subsequent false start (of all athletes combined) will lead to disqualification.
- 6) 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will be led to the podium. If for any reason an athlete misses the medal presentation, medals will be handed to the coach to award later.

Field - 1) Students may enter a maximum of 3 field events.
- 2) Long jump: maximum 3 jumps allowed. In event of tie, next longest jump determines winner. If an athlete fails to record a legal jump, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 3) Triple jump: maximum 3 jumps allowed. In event of tie, next longest jump determines winner. There is no limit to run up in U15 competition. If an athlete fails to record a legal jump, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 4) High jump: maximum 7 jumps. In event of a tie for first place, the following determines the winner. Recommended starting height (girls -1.10m, boys -1:20m)
- (a) The athlete with the lowest number of jumps at the height at which the tie occurs shall be awarded the higher place.
- (b) If the tie still remains, the athlete with the lowest total of failures throughout the competition up to and including the height last cleared, shall be awarded the higher place.
- (c) If the tie still remains for first place, the athletes tying shall have one jump at the next height last cleared by the athletes. If no decision is reached, the bar shall be raised if the tying athletes were successful or lowered if not, 2cm. They shall then attempt one jump at each height until the tie is resolved. Athletes must attempt each jump.
- (d) If the tie concerns any other place, the athletes shall be awarded the same place.
- (e) If an athlete fails to record a legal jump, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 5) Javelin: maximum 3 throws. In event of a tie, next longest throw determines the winner. If an athlete fails to record a legal throw, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 6) Discus: maximum 3 throws. In event of a tie, next longest throw determines the winner. If an athlete fails to record a legal throw, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 7) Shot: maximum 3 puts. In events of a tie, next longest put determines the winner. If an athlete fails to record a legal put, s/he will be awarded no team points.
- 8) 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will be led to the podium straight after the event is finished. If for any reason an athlete misses the medal presentation, medals will be handed to the coach to award later.

The only field events that clash for any one division are i) shot put and triple jump and ii) discus and javelin. This means that the long jump and high jump competition take place in isolation. Scoring - 1) Individual A Events 1st - 8th = 16 - 9 pts
- 2) Individual B Events 1st - 8th = 8 - 1 pt
- 3) Relays 1st - 8th = 20/17/16/15/14/13/12/11
Scratches / illness If an injury / illness prevents an athlete from participation in an event or s/he scratches, Team Coaches must submit these to the Head Official in the Coaches Meeting. If an athlete turns up to an event that s/he is not down to compete in, s/he will be automatically disqualified from the event. Protests All protests must be made in writing within 15mins of the result for the event. Protests must be entered using the correct form which will be available at the control deck. Protests will only be accepted from Team Coaches (not Parents or Individual Athletes). Entries - 1) Entries MUST be submitted using Hy-Tek Team Manager software. - 3) There are no seedings for track events.
