Junior Music Camp 2002
‘a musical adventure by the sea’

This year’s musical calendar got off to a big start when 95 young musicians from (mainly) years 5 and 6 packed their bags and took off to Pattaya for four days of music, sand, swimming and fun.

Aimed particularly at the performing groups in the upper elementary division this Junior Music Camp was the first camp involving just Elementary children. It gave the students the opportunity to spend more time with their ensemble, sing in the camp choir, take a special option, participate in team games and challenges as well as chilling out in the pool with their friends in between!

A day at camp typically comprised one or two instrumental rehearsals, one or two choir rehearsals, one special option, swimming and an evening activity such as a quiz, icebreakers or the concert.

After working hard for three days it was great to see so many people in the hotel lobby at our Camp Concert which boasted two recorder ensembles, a xylophone company, a concert band, a string orchestra and a hundred strong choir (the staff couldn’t help but join in!).

After a more relaxing Sunday morning, we set out back to Patana, arriving back in Bangkok tired but having accomplished a great a deal since we left.
