Focusing on the environment

Bangkok Patana School has been forging ahead with environmental initiatives, many of which provide students with opportunities for hands-on learning. From the development of special areas for growing and observing plants, through to demonstrating and using alternative energy sources such as solar power , students are learning more about the world around them. Environmental issues have become an increasingly important part of the curriculum and we now have a dedicated Outdoor Classroom where students can participate in a range of activities; younger students have already been exploring and discovering pond life and older students have been involved in hands-on planning and planting. The Outdoor Classroom has been generously supported by the PTG and is wonderful resource for students throughout the school.

Parents have also been enthusiastically supporting the school’s Annual Fund which aims to provide enriching experiences and extra opportunities for learning. Some of the areas for development this year include establishing a nature trail, a wind power project and an environmental studies garden for the youngest students at school. The Annual Fund is playing an important role in helping students be well prepared for the future and meet the challenges of the 21st century.
