Patana Concert Series

Music is given a high priority at Bangkok Patana School and this series of concerts, which started 13 years ago, showcases the hard work and personal development of our students:

22 January, 6:00 p.m. Patana Classic
5 February, 6:00 p.m. Patana Plugged (rock)
11 March, 6:00 p.m. Patana Jazz and Blues
1 April, 6:00 p.m. Patana Unplugged (acoustic/folk)

The Concert series features students who volunteer, organise and prepare their acts alongside some of our school extra-curricular activity groups including the Senior & Junior Jazz bands, Orchestra, String Ensemble and Choir.

At the Patana Classic concert, performances will include pieces by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin plus film and folk-inspired musical recitals.

During the weeks prior to each concert students will be hard at work rehearsing their ensemble and individual pieces to ensure they deliver a slick and polished performance on the night. Besides the performers, students also volunteer to act as MC, work at the Front of House and also assist with the technical aspects such as light and sound. These photographs show some of the final rehearsals for the Patana Classic concert.

The concerts at Bangkok Patana School allow students to publically present their work to other members of the school community and are thoroughly enjoyed by both the audience and the performers, who always show a fantastic amount of confidence, poise and presence.
