There was a record turnout of MUNsters for the 12th BPSMUN conference on Saturday 16 June 2012 . They came from Year 7 to Year 12, eighty of Patana's finest!

The conference was given an added buzz with the presence, all day, of a film crew making a documentary on ASEAN. Several delegates took a starring role with interviews on how the MUN prepares them for the world. Needless to say they spoke eloquently.

There was vigorous debate in committees in the morning with topics such as human trafficking and the expansion of permanent members of the Security Council. In the afternoon delegates gathered in the General Assembly to consider an emergency: a tsunami had devastated countries around the Indian Ocean and the Taliban had taken the opportunity to seize power in Pakistan. There were some frantic resolutions and debate lasted deep into the afternoon. It was a fitting climax to a busy MUN year at Patana.
