Congratulations to the students who have come to the end of their time at Patana and are about to embark on the next stage of their journey through life.
Mrs Laura Stamp, Vice Chair of the Foundation Board, was the guest of honour at the graduation ceremony. She addressed the graduates and talked of a letter she had received from the Headmistress of St Mary's Calne School. This is the school our founder, Rosamund Stuetzel, attended as a young girl. Laura went on to describe how she had been trying to find a common denominator between the life experiences which lead to success, fulfilment and making history and concluded that "A person is not given integrity. It results from the relentless pursuit of honesty at all times."
Ms Yvonne Brown, Head of Year 13, gave an emotional speech marking the end of her close connection to the students in this Year Group.
"I would wish you luck, but you don't need it, you are
legendary" "Keep learning, Keep enjoying Keep caring" Matt Mills, Head of School.

From all the staff to all the graduating students; Congratulations and best wishes for the next step in your life.
"It was the best of times, it was the
worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of
foolishness" Patana has definitely shaped me into
becoming the person I am today and allowed me to build a strong
foundation that will help me become successful in the future. I
will never forget Patana and I'll always treasure my memories at
Patana. Forever. As a proud member of the class of
2010, I've had the immense pleasure to converse, argue, dance,
laugh with a number of you. You're all great, interesting and
sometimes strange people. Thanks for letting me into your
world."

Every single member of the graduating class of 2010 had their name in the newspaper today, Saturday 5th June. Page three of the Bangkok Post listed all of the graduates along with pie charts showing the locations of the universities the young people are looking forward to attend. Hosting the graduation has been a huge undertaking for the school. It is has been the largest function in the Sports Hall to date. The decorations have taken two days to put in place by a dedicated team of Patana staff. Nearly seven hundred guests attended the graduation ceremony with 622 of them staying for dinner. 50 service staff ensured that the buffet provided a fitting end to this special day. In this week's Patana News, Secondary Principal, Mick Smith, thanked the key staff who have made this a "day to remember for Year 13 students and their families".
By far the largest graduating class the school has ever seen. 1005 Patana years between them and 1005 is exactly half of 2010.
Don't underestimate your potential.
We all learn from each other and grow.
Thanks for all the awesome experiences and memories everyone,
and I hope that we can stay in contact. Regardless of what I
might have said in the past, I will definitely miss you all! |
