Jazz and Blues 2008

"Extremely gifted students supported by talented teachers and a singing parent. The evening featured Patana's finest including Owen McDevitt pounding the drums, Simon Leong's last show rippin' riffs on the guitar and our very own Richard Hopkins ticklin' the ivories in their own renditions of Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Gershwin, Aretha Franklin, Eddie Floyd, Van Morrison, Louis Armstrong and many more - Jazz to Blues, you can't lose!"

"I was delighted to have seen and hear the most talented group of musicians I've ever met at a school. Every member of the audience had an amazing time and we all came away thinking the same - OUTSTANDING! Thanks to all the teachers but most of all to the students. Well done!"
Gavin Lazaro
Assistant Principal

"Just when you think these evenings can't get any better, they do. A great variety of tunes performed with such a level of talent. Amazing."
Mr. Jones
"Thoroughly enjoyed the evening - talented musicians and singers performing a great selection of jazz (students, teachers and parent). The idea of combining the musicians and singers with a dance night is a great idea."

"Each year we wonder how we will cope with our mega stars leaving but then younger stars emerge shining just as brightly. We will miss Simon and Shirlene but having seen the talents in the Junior and Senior Jazz Band, and heard the amazing voices of Dao and Kard the future is in good hands. Many thanks to our inspirational music department for another great evening."
