Asia Books Readers’ Theatre competition
In Term 1, 14 Patana teams from Year 5 and 6 were video recorded reading children’s short story books in order to enter the Asia Books Readers’ Theatre competition. This competition involves reading a story aloud with appropriate expression, volume and gestures. 25 teams got chosen for the final and two Patana teams were fortunate to make it through. On Sunday they performed live on stage in Central World Plaza in front of a large audience and both teams delivered fantastic readings of their stories. One of the Patana teams were placed first in their division and won 15,000 baht of Asia Books vouchers and a set of books for the school valued at 10,000 baht. The competition helped the students develop their skills in reading aloud and to see how literature can be presented in a dramatic form. So watch out for Season 4 of this competition and we hope to see more Patana students up on stage!.
